What to do:
• The time to hit Vegas is during the build-up to the holiday season. See the shows, the lights, the production. All of the big-name casinos have an overabundance of decorations and themed activities with plenty of holiday cheer.
• There are Christmas shows and visits with Santa, Hanukkah events including a Menorah Lighting Ceremony on Freemont St., and the Las Vegas Kwanzaa celebrations include an event centered on the history of Kwanzaa, as well as a celebration featuring music, dance and poetry.
• The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is a slower one for Vegas -- so, if you want to enjoy the Vegas experience without the crowds, this is the time to do it.
