Dallas, Texas
So many people who inhabit the Dallas area aren't native Texans. But, as the saying goes, they got here as fast as they could.
Although the reasons for Big D's attraction are many, lush landscapes and wonderful year-round weather no doubt top the list.
Dallas vacations can begin and end without ever leaving the city. Just a stone's throw from the reflecting, glass-encased skyscrapers you'll find daytime distractions such as museums, zoos, shops, parks and lakes. Your day can then continue long after the sun sets, if you wish, thanks to a large collection incredibly romantic restaurants and hotspots where locals go to see and be seen.
Meanwhile, lake recreation and small-town charm reside just a few miles in either direction of the Metroplex. Granbury, about 30 miles southwest of Fort Worth, offers an ideal combination of small-town Texas history and big-lake Texas fun. The Bridgeport and Tyler areas also provide opportunities to relax and rediscover lakeside living.
