Phoenix, Arizona
The seasons blend into perpetually warm and sunny days here in the heart of the Desert Southwest, where golfers, explorers, power shoppers and sightseers know there's never a bad time for making memories that last a lifetime.
Oases of vacation resorts dot the landscape, offering championship courses that challenge and inspire golfers regardless of skill level. Spas, meanwhile, conjure the healing powers of native desert plants to provide signature treatments that regenerate the body and nourish the soul.
Every area of this grand state is unique and special in its own way. With high-end retailers such as Tiffany's, Gucci and Cartier - and more spas per capita than any other U.S. city - historic Scottsdale is a shopper's paradise and a spa lover's dream. There may be no better place to indulge yourself, or, as more than a third of the teams in the Major League have discovered, no better setting for spring baseball.
Venture beyond the diamond to Sedona, and you'll discover a surrounding landscape that includes ancient rock art, pueblo ruins and incomparable desert mountain views. We are your source for Arizona Vacation resorts.
While the rest of Arizona relishes the 365-day-a-year tee time, fresh powder awaits skiers and snowboarders atop Flagstaff's San Francisco Peaks. From here, day trips to Grand Canyon National Park are possible.

The whole town gets into the holiday spirit with the "White Light Holiday Display" - from Thanksgiving to the New Year, the desert landscape from Chandler Boulevard to the Desert Foothills Parkway is illuminated with more a million white lights and with clusters of white strands amongst the treetops. The signature event is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.
Celebrate the season hay ride on the back of a horse drawn hay-arranged cart or take in the lights of a luminary walk that includes nearly 500 candle lit luminaries.
The 23rd Annual Electric Light Parade - This parade, taking place on Saturday, December 5, is a huge draw to visitors and locals and attracts over 200,000 spectators each year. The event features holiday lights on everything from elaborate floats to marching bands and also highlights performance groups and bands.
The coolest thing about this event? This year, the parade is GOING GREEN for the holidays.

Travel Tips:
One very healthy (and free!) outdoor activity is a hike to the top of Camelback Mountain, the city's most prominent landmark which is in the midst of a 75 acre park. The mountain features red cliffs, the Praying Monk rock formation and the familiar camel's silhouette as well as a sweeping view of the greater Phoenix area as you climb.
Hiking to the very top is a bit strenuous but one little known fact is that there is a "button" on the very top of the mountain that you push when you get there which means you have hit the highest point --- something you can brag to your friends about!
There are easier trails that don't require a climb to the top for those who just want to take it easy.
- Robin, Wyndham Rewards
If you have an early morning flight, arrange for a car service to the night before vs. calling a cab. The 2 times I used cabs the drives were "scary" when they arrived.
- Karen, Wyndham Worldwide
Phoenix is a great backpacker's destination, so if you're interested in hitting the nature trails or going on a hiking adventure, there is plenty to see and do. You'll find affordable hotels on the outskirts of downtown but if you want to stay in an upscale resort or hotel it's wise to take advantage of packages and discounts available when you book a room for multiple days in off-peak season. After a long day of hiking, treat yourself to dinner at Elements, an Asian-accented contemporary American restaurant on the northern slope of Camelback Mountain located on the grounds of Sanctuary resort. Be sure to take in a spectacular sunset and nearby mountains captured through views from the restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows. If you cannot get a reservation, try your luck in the Jade Bar or have dinner at the community table!

I stayed in Wyndham hotel in Phoenix, AZ. I loved the room, the hotel was centrally located in downtown Phoenix. I would recommend taking a walking tour of the surrounding buildings and shops. We were out walking, and looking for the movie theater. We never reached the theater because we found so many other interesting bars and restaurants, and a lot of art exhibits.
Tip! Be careful of the street names, some are repeated (for example 4th street and 4th road). You can get lost easily if you lose track of where you are! Thank you.
