I've been slack on this blog, sorry. It's been a crazy fall/early winter due to my little one and his catching every virus imaginable. Talk about insane. Of course, when it rains, it pours and now our girl, MacKenzie (adorable, feisty, black lab) has to have her CCL in her knee repaired next week. Yeah. 14 weeks of rehab after that. For our DOG. It's bound to be a super next four months.

So, that trip that I was talking about in my last entry - although we've gotta put it off until after the holidays, it's now a must. Or really, I could lose it!

So, since the baby has been sick and now my husband and I are going to have to recruit our parents for help with the dog and well as the babysitting that they've already been roped into (which, they love since my kid is just so damn cute!), I'm planning to do something really fab for them for Christmas. I'm so excited about this!

Let me share. I'm thinking that we are going to plan a fun summer beach week and bring my parents with us. That way, they can spend time with the baby, enjoy being on a vacation and we can all just hang and relax together. I know that my Mom will absolutely love this idea so I'm really looking forward to seeing her face when I give her the whole scoop on Christmas morning. There is nothing better than having that perfect gift for someone!

I got the idea from this article that a friend of mine worked on with USA Today - apparently the newest trend in travel is "multi-generational" travel and staying in time share resorts. Sounds good - a kitchen, somewhere to hang out, family there to watch your babe while you get an actual "date night" sans kids.... Makes a lot of sense and although I (think) I would love to have a big old family reunion kind of trip, I think that for me and my crazy life, baby steps are best. LOL!
