During my mad dash to the vending machine for a quick sugar high at work, it popped into my head that if I had to pick any super hero skill, it would be to freeze time. How fabulous would it be to add hours to your day?!

Not the kind of freezing time where I'm the only one not frozen (what happens to those other frozen people? Do their brains just seize up and stop working? Hmmm. Something to ponder when I have more time), but the Evie from "Out of This World" kind of freezing time where I can touch those around me with whom I want to spend that earned extra time. Love it.

My guess is that every working mother out there feels the same way. When you're at work, the days just fly by because there is so much to do and you know that once you get home and get dinner cooked, homework done, night-night routine complete and the second dinner prepared, you are flat out WIPED! Forget doing anything else but maybe reading, begging for a quick backrub and passing out après baby-bedtime. Until tomorrow. When it all happens again. Good times.

There is nothing quite like feeling under the gun all of the time. Work, home, life. You're busy. We all are, working Moms or not.

Which is why September is my very favorite month. Forget New Years Eve. With the start of a new school year, the entrance of fall (Yum. What a great season -- cozy sweaters, crunchy leaves, hay rides and spiked hot chocolate....) a seasonal wardrobe change and a new calendar, September represents the New Year to me.

There is nothing like a new day planner. Those blank pages, waiting to be filled with outings with friends, romantic weekends away, (YES! We are planning our first weekend away sans child. This is big for me, people. Big.) and family vacations. It's the first thing that I do when I plan my year -- pick out the dates to hold for the fun stuff!

We're taking an overnight getaway without the wee one in November for a quick break and then we've planned a trip to Newport for Valentine's Day weekend. Love that V-day is falling on a Saturday. And, it's President's Day weekend. Seriously - the planets are aligned. I've already made our reservations so that the time doesn't get away from me. There are a lot of great packages and deals for romantic getaways so now is the time to get out your planner and pick your "fun days" before your calendar is filled with the mundane and "must dos".

So back to the whole "Freezing time" thing. Think about the possibilities! On vacation and having a fab time? FREEZE! Out with your girlfriends on a work night? FREEZE! On deadline at work with piles on your desk? Again -- FREEZE!
