And on to the next.
I'm happy to say that I'm starting this New Year off with a positive attitude, excitement about some great stuff going on at work and lots of new milestones being reached at home. The baby is breaking through new teeth (yes, the older one is now breaking a sweat while he's having these temper tantrums that would put the Devil to shame but I digress .....)and is on the verge of crawling. We've ditched the diaps for the big kid and he's got this hysterical personality on him that is making this newfound imagination just a riot for DH and me to experience.
Like I said, good stuff all around.
Of course, I've got my little list of things that I want to do this year - personal and professional goals to accomplish, vacations that I want to take ... the basics. I'm sure that you do too. That's what I love about the New Year - there's just so much opportunity.
Speaking of opportunities, there are quite a few rockin' entries in the Local Nation contest. The women who entered have a great opportunity - to win Wyndham Rewards points that can be used for mini-getaways, week-long vacations or even towards international travel. I know. Very cool. Not only will they win the chance to travel on our dime, they'll also be getting a Flip video to document the cool stuff that they do and see and then they'll be reporting back to you, our readers, on their trips. So, be sure to check it out and vote for the entries that speak to you. You can vote for one person, once a day.
If you missed your opportunity to enter this year, fear not - there is a very good chance that this contest will become an annual deal. Another great way to participate on the site is to share your tips and travel stories on the community message boards or to send me an article on your latest vacation (I love pretty pics, too!). We're always looking for great content that will give other women ideas on where to go and what to do for their next vacation.
I'm sure that many of you have put weight loss on your list of resolutions (not because I think you need it, silly, but because weight loss is the #1 resolution of the New Year) and after having bambino #2, it's on mine too. This year, I'm taking a more holistic approach (stress reduction, increasing strength, nutrition, etc) so I've signed myself up for a program with Debi, the MoJo Coach from the Jane Air Crew. I'll be sure to keep you in the loop of my progress (which will definitely help to keep me motivated and on track!). Lucky for you, Debi shares her insight, tips and strategies for health and wellness on Women on Their Way. Be sure to check it out and let me know how you're doing - we can be virtual "wellness buddies".
Now that I have that out of the way, I have to go back and start picking dates for my vacations. There are a lot of places that I want to explore over the next year. Next up for me - the Adirondack Park in NY. I'll be sure to report back. In the meantime, head over and vote for your favorites for Local Nation.
