Jane is tired of reporting bad news. So, in honor of the end of Awards Season (you know, the Grammy Awards, the Golden Globes, the Oscars), Jane is going to don her loveliest, low-cut designer gown and stroll down the red carpet to announce the accolades received by Wyndham Worldwide during the past year.

Winners of what Jane will coin "The Wyndies" range across all price categories. At the top of the list is a hotel that won Jane's heart during her visit to Budapest, Hungary last year. Said hotel is the five-star Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal Budapest. The hotel, a member of the Wyndham Grand Collection, has been voted Best Luxury Hotel in Budapest in the 2009 TripAdvisor® Travelers' Choice™ awards poll. The Travelers' Choice awards, the only honors representing the unbiased opinions of millions of travelers, are among the most coveted in the global hotel industry. The spiffy Budapest Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal also garnered a Top 10 for Luxury-Europe and A Best Hotel in the Top 25 World Cities from TripAdvisor loyalists.

Meanwhile, in Puerto Rico, the Wyndham Rio Mar was named one of the Top 10 Family Friendly Resorts for 2009 by Parents Magazine. It's no surprise, given the vast amount of activities available on site and in the neighborhood (rainforest tours, horseback rides, etc.). Another hit with families is the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel —Anaheim Resort. It ranked number #3 among TripAdvisor's Top 10 Family Hotels for 2008.

The Tremont House — A Wyndham Historic Hotel in Galveston, Texas was named by Budget Travel as one of 2008's best value budget hotels in the world, as was the Wyndham Riverfront New Orleans.

Then there's Microtel Inns & Suites, which has been recognized for the past seven years by J.D. Power and Associates as having the highest overall guest satisfaction in the economy lodging segment. Microtel is quickly becoming the Meryl Streep of its category, winning prizes ranging from the 2008 Chain Leadership award from Lodging Hospitality to the 2008 HotelWorld Global Hospitality & Design Award Competition for best guest room design.

Jane congratulates all of the winners and looks forward to next year's awards ceremony. No worries, dear reader— just like this year's classy affair, there will be no cheesy production numbers nor embarrassing banter between presenters.
