Profile:
Lynn 'Travelynn' Spreadbury is a veteran traveler who has globe-trotted across five continents, fifty countries and forty-five of the United States. She has been jet-setting since she was less than a year old and comes from a family that spans four continents. Lynn often thinks of airline food as a home-cooked meal.
Her adventures have found her touring the US from coast to coast with her favorite rock band, eating termites off trees in Central America, sleeping in a Bolivian hotel made of salt, leaping from a plane at 20,000 feet over New Zealand and fighting a sandstorm in Mongolia's Gobi desert.
Lynn is an AmeriCorps alumni and global volunteer. Since 2002, she has designed and led volunteer trips to developing countries helping to build homes for people in need. She is proud to have assisted families in Ecuador, Chile, New Zealand, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Mongolia and Guatemala.
Currently, Lynn is pursing an entrepreneurial adventure and founded her own travel company, Hands Unpacked (www.handsunpacked.com). The organization designs custom, international volunteer vacations for schools, corporate groups and individuals wanting to learn about foreign cultures while providing volunteer service to those in need. Hands Unpacked also consults on cross-cultural awareness issues.
Wyndham Worldwide's Women on Their Way contest is the second award Lynn has won in recent months. Last fall, she was named a winner in the British Airways "Face of Opportunity" contest. The competition honored Hands Unpacked and rewarded her with a trip to London and New Delhi to meet with international CEOs to help develop her business.
Lynn is honored to be named to the Women On Their Way sounding board. She is excited to get out, share her adventures and sample a few more in-flight meals.
