Tips for Planning Your Destination Wedding
Wedding Expert: Brian Lewis Postle, Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa
"My role is to ensure that the Wedding & Reception planning goes off without a hitch. Managing the outside vendors (i.e photo, video, make-up, hair, cake etc.), and listening to the customer. We love to come up with new and exciting ideas for weddings, receptions, honeymoons and engagements that are one-of-a-kind and unique to the couple."

Give your guests as much time as possible to plan their vacation schedules and finances. For smaller destination weddings try to send out your "Save the Date" cards at least six months in advance and up to one year for larger destination weddings.
Create a website to post information about the wedding, destination, hotel, airline, recreation etc. Some easy to use sites include weddingwire.com, marthastewart.com/weddings and thenest.com.
Do your research! Depending on the destination, the marriage license requires legal documents for approval like birth certificate, or blood test. (The requirements may vary by destination
Passport requirements are another key factor in determining your Destination Wedding location. You may want to survey your family and friends to see how many have one. Make sure to give those who do not have a passport the time to obtain one.
